Thoughts on Deconstructing Google
Initial Reflections on Data Monopolies and Data Totalitarianism
So.
The monopoly online begins with search engines. The brain or logic behind the search the “engine” if you will, is the proprietary material. I know when D was at Harvard, the inventor of Ask Jeeves? was getting her law degree at the same time (2001-3). The market was then promptly bled dry of search engine competition.
The problem is those engines don’t scale. It’s the resource base: the data, that scales. (You can have the smartest search engine in the world, and no data to sift through.) There became a monopoly on data before you could make a joke about it. Thus there became a monopoly on engines that can search the data.
The regenerative policy model to apply is a public trust model. Like we want to do in the field of environmental sciences, too, as the Maori in New Zealand have done by granting personhood to the Whanganui River, as CELDF is striving to do for the now parched Colorado River. Our National Archives and the Library of Congress also model good public commons behavior.
Who “owns” the Internet? The answer is, as with the Earth: NO ONE. Or rather, NO ONE SHOULD. But presently, Google does own the Internet. It owns all that data. Including your Digital Twin.
That’s the monopoly we need to smash. To solve the problem of data management under the situation of de-monopolizing access to data by invoking the public trust model, in order PROTECT the minute particulars of critical infrastructure (each other as vulnerable sentient beings) by restoring all data connected to personal identifiers BACK to the person identified using a transparent block-chained (open) model.
Presently, under the totalitarian model that currently exists, the poor, the disabled, the socioeconimically underprivledged, the Black, the Female, the Brown, the ungendered or differently gendered, are all constructed as monsters: unassimilable by a system rooted in the exploitation of property of which these groups tend to have less or none. The unpropertied, in short, are the disenfranchised and misrepresented in the digitally-compiled world that increasingly determines restrictions disguised as “rights.” But when “rights” disenfranchise the rights of others and entail no responsibility to the larger whole of which the “rights holder” is a part, those are not rights at all but tyranny.
The tyranny of the propertied class over the unpropertied must end, beginning with a restoration of representation over one’s person and the recuperation of agency through the right to revise, deauthorize and RESTORY the corporate state’s monopoly over your Digital Twin.
Start by deconstructing central banks and their appendage credit agencies. Who endowed them with the power over life and death? They are the terrorist organizations of the corporate state who concentrate power to terrorize the poor, the vulnerable, the exploited, the overworked, under-resourced, overwhelmed and needy in order to process them into Babylonian debt slavery based on control over the core facet of a digital identity constructed for by and to the purposes of the corporate state. This identity people are responsible for, but over which they have very little power to construct or deconstruct in the present paradigm. It thus shackles us.
By this method the historically disenfranchised are entered into the ledger of a deterministic universe where they are made captive to corporate (global capital) power and debt peonage, a condition which has come to replace liberty and happiness for all-too-many in the modern world, as capital is consolidated and more and more join the ranks of the assetless.
